Abstract

Those familiar with the problems of developing countries do not miss their close similarity with the new ills of the industrial world. The central thesis of this work is that in both cases the disturbances originate in bottlenecks, a phenomenon not yet integrated into the current economic paradigm. The work is divided into three sections. The first deals with the causes of the frequent backwardness of economic ideas in the face of reality. The second section deals specifically with the problems of the primary exporting countries in the industrialization process, with their chronic propensity to extreme bottlenecks and the resulting phenomena. Finally, the third section applies the previous concepts to international inflation since 1972, to the current oil crisis and to the new phenomenon of "start and stop" inflationary-recessive cycles, this time in a worldwide scale.
