Ethical norms

The ETHIKA + Journal team is especially committed to complying with the ethical standards that regulate academic publications (Committee on Publications Ethics) (COPE), particularly regarding the independence of the evaluation, the absence of conflict of interest and the social responsibility associated with the dissemination of ideas from academic institutions.
Both the Director of the journal and the Editorial Committee and all the members of the team of expert evaluators undertake to ensure the adaptation of the process to the regulations described here.

Basic ethical rules for publication in the journal:
1. Manuscripts must conform to national and international standards for academic publications. Theoretical references must be updated and relevant to the topic addressed. If the article is based on the development of a scientific investigation, it must present an adequate methodological design and adjust the selection criteria of the sample or the participating subjects to the ethical regulations in force in the country.
2. The journal excludes all type of discrimination with respect to the authors due to their ethnic, social, gender, sexual orientation or political or religious beliefs.
3. Manuscripts that show a conflict of interest or may involve any form of scientific / academic fraud will not be published in the journal.
4. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, double publication or malicious use of any material that seeks to be published in the journal is expressly prohibited.
5. In the event of an ethical conflict, the procedures recommended by COPE will be followed for its analysis and resolution. For more information, it is suggested to check their website: http://publicationethics.org/
6. It is forbidden for all members of the journal to make use of any unpublished material either for personal benefit or for any institution, without the express consent and acceptance of those involved.

Ethical norms for the Editorial Committee
1. It is the responsibility of the Editorial Committee to select the articles and material published in the journal, ensuring their adequate scientific and / or academic merit, in strict compliance with the editorial standards.
2. It is the responsibility of the Editorial Committee to make ex officio or request the authors the pertinent modifications of the evaluated material, in compliance with the editorial standards.
3. It is the responsibility of the Editor and / or the Editorial Committee to send the accepted manuscripts for their review to the external evaluators, guaranteeing the anonymity and confidentiality of all those involved in the process.
4. It is the responsibility of the Editorial Committee and the Director of the journal to carry out the corresponding measures to avoid or repair any type of academic fraud that involves the publication, in any of its phases.
5. It is the responsibility of the Editorial Committee and / or Chief Editor to report the results of the evaluation of the submissions in a timely manner.
6. It is the responsibility of the Editorial Committee to request clarifications or introduce amendments to the manuscripts that require it. If any error or fraud is detected after the publication of an issue of the journal, it is the responsibility and attribution of the Director and / or the Editorial Committee to manage the withdrawal of the articles or the full issue, as appropriate. In any case, the modifications must be reported on the journals website.
7. It is the responsibility of the Editorial Committee to maintain permanent communication with authors and external evaluators in the review and publication process. Communication may be established after publication if necessary.
8. It is the responsibility of the Director and / or the Editorial Committee to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of the information regarding all the people involved in the production process of the publication.

Ethical norms for authors:
1. The author of a manuscript will be considered whoever develops relevant intellectual contributions to the conception, design, methodology and preparation of an original study. People who make other contributions to the submitted manuscript will not be considered authors but collaborators and must be mentioned in the acknowledgment section of the text.
2. Authors will also be considered those who send book reviews, essays, partial or complete translations of works or articles.
3. Authors must send unpublished and original manuscripts. They are responsible for guaranteeing the veracity and authenticity of the data used in your manuscript, its institutional affiliation and the bibliographic references. All use of non-propietary material must be authorized by its authors under the exceptions contemplated by the Intellectual Property Law. Relevant bibliographic references should be noted as indicated in the publishing standards of the ETHIKA + journal.
4. It is the responsibility of the authors to inform the editor-in-chief of the journal in case of identifying an error in its publication and to collaborate with the respective amendment when necessary.
5. Authors must declare their acceptance of the editorial and intellectual property rules of the ETHIKA + journal.
6. The authors must make the corrections that are requested as mandatory by the editor and by the external evaluators. In case of disagreeing with the requested correction, the author should contact the editorial committee of the journal.
7. The contents and / or opinions expressed in the authors' works are their sole responsibility.

Ethical norms for external evaluators of ETHIKA+ journal
1. The evaluators can only accept the revision of manuscripts referring to topics on which they have sufficient competence and experience to be able to carry out their analysis and revision. If this is not the case, or if there are conflicts of interest, they must resign the evaluation of the manuscript.
2. The evaluators must undertake to maintain confidentiality and / or anonymity with respect to the author of the manuscript or the people involved with its design throughout the review process.
3. The evaluators must inform the Director or the editorial committee of the ETHIKA+ journal of any situation of scientific fraud, plagiarism or self-plagiarism that they may detect or corroborate in the manuscript review process.
4. The evaluators must report their observations on the manuscript within the period assigned by the editorial committee, which must comply with the evaluation guidelines of the ETHIKA + journal.
