Abstract

The text investigates how the emerging frontier problem, associated with the republics from the 19th century is recorded from the indigenous perspective. The conception of the frontier for the Indians was, of course, not only distinct but epistemologically contrary to the idea of border in the republics. The border was forced to change, in a way, adapted to the Andean communities, to their daily demands and practices.
